The position of ISURUS is all consumerism has a detrimental impact on the environment. Striving to manufacture the most environmentally friendly neoprene surfing wetsuit is an worthwhile goal and one that we fully support. It is something that we at ISURUS strive for. However, who determines what is environmentally sound and how it is determined is another question. We believe calcium-based neoprene is a better alternative to petroleum. However, we are aware of the environmental issues with manufacturing calcium based limestone neoprene.
We are all well aware of the environmental impact of petroleum-based neoprene. The green promotion of wetsuit liners made from corn or bamboo is suspect. The run-off from fertilizer and insecticides from corn and bamboo farming are notorious polluters of our water.

Shipping goods around the world has huge environmental issues. If you do some research on the pollution caused from ocean freighters that are used for shipping goods around the world, I think you will be shocked at what you learn. These ships are some of the biggest polluters on earth. Face it, we as consumers are polluters.
Isurus’ Environmental Position
We do what we think is right to minimize our environmental impact. We live on this planet also.
Our environmental position as a company is remarkably simple:
- Reduce what we can.
- Make a difference ourselves.
- Educate and encourage others to do the same.
