How did you get into surfing? I was naturally drawn to it when I was about 10 years old, say about 5th grade. Noticed the cool kids were standing up and I started standing on my boogie board. Until one of the older ‘Cool kids said “hey, you should just surf, it’s more fun.” I felt that was more graceful and never looked back

What was the last song you heard on your iPod? They still make iPods? Haha, well if we are doing throw backs I’ll share that I was last listening to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass on my old record player.

What is the one thing you look forward to when you get home from a trip? Telling my family I love them.

What is the earliest childhood memory you have that does not deal with surfing? The smell of my old block and italian ices in the Bronx.

Who has been the most influential person in your life? Bugs Bunny –he makes a good time out almost everything. Dad, I guess, –he is the one who taught me how to interpret that Bugs Bunny business. He’s fun.

Do you have a hidden talent outside of surfing? Ah, Harley wheelies. Making people smile. That’s no secret though. I’m a big kid.

What is your favorite travel location? Indonesia is really nice. Even just getting out of town –an hour away with my friends and having laughs and growing outside of our element makes me smile always.
