The Story of Isurus

Isurus wetsuits are designed by surfers for surfing. These high performing wetsuits are designed for the athlete who surfs 200 plus days a year in cold and demanding conditions. Isurus wetsuits are tested and proven on the coast from Central California, Mavericks to north of Bodega Bay.

The Isurus line of wetsuits developed out of frustration with current wetsuit technologies. We were cold, and tired of spending good dollars for overpriced wetsuits made of inexpensive neoprene that were heavy, restrictive, and disintegrated after 6 months. We heard this same story over and over. The quality of wetsuits has deteriorated, the price has gone up and there has been little innovation. Surfboards have advanced, it was time for a “new” wetsuit technology.

Other well known wetsuit manufacturers originally started with the same mission to build a better wetsuit, but moved from their roots in the pursuit of profit. They chased mass market sales with inferior high profit neoprene and prospered by giving away wetsuits that cost almost nothing to manufacture and paying to promote their brand. It is simple when you own the market there is no reason to innovate. Profit drives decisions.

The pundits told us the world didn’t need another wetsuit manufacturer. Well, we decided to paddle out. Why, because we were cold and tired of wetsuits that don’t perform.

The dedicated 200 plus day a year surfer wears our product because of quality and because it performs, not because they are paid. Isurus is riding swells among the surfers of Central and Northern California and new swells are being generated internationally.
